Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My 10 month old son is suffering from loose motions. Today is 4th day. I have given him 2 doses of ciprogyl suspension. His stool is loose and of green color. The frequency of motions is 5 times a day. Although he is active n playing. I m giving him cerelac and breastmilk.
Sir please suggest what should I do to control motions.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your 10 month old son and understood the concerns. Sine the loose stools are of green color the most probable reason is obviously intestinal infection through the containers of cerelac, breast feeding. Hence I would advise you the following: Since the son is only 10 month old, you should consult a Pediatrician for proper clinical evaluation and examination; get stool and blood tested. Proper prescription based antibiotic, metronidazole may be needed along with probiotics. Keep the utensils used sterile. Wash the nipple area with spirit and allow it to dry completely before breast feeding. These things will help to avoid recurrence.
