Suggest Treatment For Green Phlegm Discharge In Mornings

I have had green phlegm for the last year. Mainly in the morning.
I have consulted 3 different doctors and taken 5 different antibiotic treatments, including nasal steroids plus antiallergics.
Nothing has worked. I still have the same green phlegm in the mornings. What can I do? I am desperate.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
You are having chronic green phlegm not responding to antibiotics.
And this is seen commonly with bronchitis, bronchiectesis, chronic lung infection like tuberculosis, fungal infection etc.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Chest x ray and CT thorax to rule out bronchiectesis and lung infection like tb, fungal infection.
2. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to rule out bronchitis.
3. Sputum culture and sensitivity report.
Culture will isolate the causative organism and sensitivity report will guide you about effective antibiotic treatment.
So consult pulmonologist, first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment. Quit smoking if you smoker.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
