Hi Hari, thanks for asking form HCM.
I can understand your concern. In cold environment, a person who is not acclimatised may develop repeated common cold/rhinitis (
nasal infection) or sinusitis. All these are upper
respiratory tract infection and may also occur due to allergy. You can observe signs of allergy like sneezing/itching after exposure to dust/chemicals/smoke/gases etc. If you find so, avoid that particular substance.
Another reason is infection. To manage it, you can follow few tips
: Avoid direct contact with cool breeze. You can use mask while going out/driving bike
: Avoid cold food/drinks.
: Increase uptake of warm/hot food/tea/coffee.
: Warm saline gargles if sore throat
: Warm saline nasal dos 4-5 times daily to open nose.
: You can take Tab Cetrizine-Xylometazoline-
Paracetamol combination after proper prescription
: You can take antibiotic therapy like Co-amoxyclav therapy after proper prescription.
: Steam inhalation 4-6 times daily
: Still no relief,
consult ENT specialist for chronic sinusitis/deviated
nasal septum or allergy. He will examine your nose, oral cavity and do some investigations like hemogram/IgE level/X ray of sinuses to confirm diagnosis. Further treatment will be given after confirmation.
hope it will help you. Thanks. Take care.
Still in doubt, you can ask another question.
