Suggest Treatment For Headache Despite A Normal CT Scan Report

A few days ago I finally went to the ER. I have been having headaches and that night it was the worse headache I have ever had. They did a CT scan without dye and it showed a mass. So they did a 2nd one with dye and they said it came out ok. How is this possible? And should I be worried and see a neurologist? Thank you so much.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is unlikely that a mass in CT will not show up on contrast CT. In such a situation, MRI would be able to clear the exact picture. However, I suggest you visit a neurologist who can do a neurological examination upon you and guide you accordingly.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions, I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.
