Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi I have a 3-year old daughter and during last 4 weeks she had headaches as well as her body temperature drops to 34.9-35.5 especially after or during sleep! This is very unusual for her. She felt onto her forehead 4 weeks ago after which all of this begun. However, CT scan did not show anything abnormal. also about 6 weeks ago she had high level of calcium in her urine, however, the blood test last week did not show high level of calcium. The pediatrician suggested to wait for another week, but I really worry - first she had her headaches when she would have laid down to sleep (and even would wake up from sleep because of the headaches), and now she has also developed the headaches during day! If anyone has any suggestions, I will greatly appreciate!
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Post-traumatic headaches may persist for quite some time, especially if accompanied by loss of consciousness. There may also be dizziness, irritability, hyperactivity, sleep disturbance, difficulty controlling anger. It would help to know: is she taking any medicine for the headaches?does she localize her headaches to any part of her head? is there a family history of headaches? Are there precipitating factors such as noise, foods(pizza, cheese, chocolate, hot dogs), light or sound sensitivity, vomiting, abdominal pain, or changes in vision? To determine the significance of high calcium level in urine one needs to know the value of creatinine in the same urine specimen.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
