Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. As MRI brain has showed a lesion which is dural arterio-venous fistula (AV), it may be the cause of headache with buzzing noise in ear also known as
Tinnitus. This dual AV fistulas if present near temporal bone/ear bone (petrous) can give rise to pulsation like buzzing sound.
You can feel your pulse in your hand and relate it with buzzing sound frequency, if they are matching, then it is definitely due to Dural AV fistula. Other thing is location of fistula, if it is near ear, more chances of pulsatile buzzing.
Another cause could be due to ear pathology which is causing headache and buzzing like
ear infection, ear drum rupture, outer ear infection. It can be suspected more if ear is painful, discharge from ear, hearing problem, past history of ear infection, repeated nasal blockade. For management, you should
consult ENT specialist.
Meanwhile at home, you should
: Keep your ear dry
: Avoid touching
ear canal with bare finger
: take pain killer like
Diclofenac sodium for pain relief after proper prescription.
Hope it will help you. Take care. Thanks
