I have a lot of headaches from time to time. Many of them are migraines. For the last two days my head has been hurting on the very top and at the roots of my hair. It is so sore to the touch and it hurts even if I don't touch it. What do you think is wrong?
You have headaches and migrainous attack. The headache is on roots of hair and these are sore to touch. Migraine headache is a type of throbbing or pulsatile headache that occurs on frontotemporal region and in episodes. As its very sensitive so most likely its is migraine though detailed history is needed to make diagnosis. Once diagnosis is made then treatment is given. Most of the times such headaches respond to OTC analgesics like Paracetamol or Aspirin. In severe cases prescription drugs like Ergot medicines as Sumatriptan etc are needed. To proven episodes of headache medicines like Propranolol, Topiramate, Sodium Valproate etc are used. Amitryptiline also have excellent results. I would advise you to visit a neuropsychiatrist for treatment. Decrease the intake of tea, coffee, chocolates, alcohol for some time to prevent headache.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
