Suggest Treatment For Headaches, nausea And Vertigo After Injury

I whacked my head on an open cabinet yesterday. I literally saw stars and struggled to stay standing. After a couple of minutes I felt ok. Last night I noticed an indentation where impact occurred. It is along my hairline, just about 3 finger widths above my left temple. I've had a headache all day, some nausea and a bit of vertigo. Not sure if the painful indentation (width of the tip of my pointer finger) is anything to worry about.

Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal, MD.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

Ideally I would suggest that you should have a radioneuroimaging. The reason is that the trauma may be causing something like concussion- tha may include symptoms like headache, vomitting, nausea, vertigo and sometimes even seizures. Mlder forms may not have all the symptoms of the concussion. In case of concussion, the neuroradioimaging is essential.

A feeling of loss of memory to the event of trauma is also known

As for the indentation that you have mentioned, we need to evaluate the scalp. There may be some damage to the scalp. The damage to the scalp may be causing this indentation.

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above/if any other so I can be of help further.

I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.

Please do understand that some details could be extracted from a detailed history and examination.
