Hi. Thank you for writing to HCM.

It appears like your eustachian tube (ET) is getting blocked/pressed while you chew or clench your teeth. This may be due to TMJ arthralgia or mucus accumulation within the ET. You can try some home remedies to alleviate your symptoms before you visit your doctor on the 13th such as applying saline nose drops 3-5 times a day into your nose (Pressurized saline nasal sprays are available in the market), this will help clean and open up your ET. Also, you can try some exercises to open your ET such as Toynbee's maneuver or the Valsalva maneuver (anyone for 2-3 times a day). You can find information on how these are done online.

But rest assured this presently with your symptoms does not appear to be something very worrisome. An examination of your nasal cavity and nasopharyngeal area and ear is indicated which can be performed on the 13th.

Hope this helps. Do let me know if you have any other questions.
