Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My father in law had a heart attack on friday night, but he has not woken up yet. All his blood work is ok and he is making urine. He is breathing 50/50 with the machine and the ct scan and ekg are all good...they took him off the pain killers at 6:30AM this morning...why hasn t he woken up yet?
Hello! Thank you for asking on HCM! Regarding your concern I could explain that as your father in on a respiratory machine regimen this means that he has suffered a severe heart attack complicated with acute cardio-respiratory failure and possible arrest. So he needs time to recover and his brain and respiratory function to return in a more normal status. Hope that everything is will be OK and he recovers soon. Greetings from Dr. Iliri
