Suggest Treatment For Heart Palpitations After Having Aleve In An Elderly Person

I am Jane Johnsen, 69 yrs old and hardly ever take any medication. No prescription drugs. I did take an aspirin about 4am thinking I had hurt my back. Since the pain did not go away I took one Aleve pill. Haven't done that in 15 years. Now I have a first time irregular heartbeat and feels slightly like pounding. Rate is 88 and I am very healthy. How long will it last? Any advice would be apprececiated.

welcome to hcm,
as per my opinion, Aleve which is naproxen which is NSAID does not cause any palpitations.
most common cause of palpitations is anxiety but in your case as you were having back ache that can cause increase in heart beats.
as per me this beats will slow down as your pain starts decreasing.
thanks. regards. feel free if you have any further questions.
