Hi,I am Dr. Robert Galamaga (Hematologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My father is 81. He fell on his face and did not go to hospital until next day. He is on Coumadin and had a hematoma. Had surgery after two weeks in the ICU. He has A Fib, has had serious melanoma surgery , had both shoulders replaces, has fallen and broken his arm 2 times in past year with pins and truss system to support elbow now. Lots of surgeries in the past several years. Has had a few small strokes. What is his chance of coming out of coma after almost 4 weeks after craniotomy and having any quality of life. He is breathing 4-5 hours a day on his own but has trach and peg tube. Mom says he blinks his eyes when talked to.
