Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Doctor,
Iam 25 years , suffering from Hep-B , HBs Ag- Positive.
my doctor advised me to check up every 6 months . There is only 655 copies/UL.
My question is when it will be cured and what steps i have to taken, Whether i can marry. Is there any problem with my marriage of this disease. It will affect my family in future. Please reply me.
You may marry, but be sure that your spouse immunized against the hepatitis B virus (HBV) before having sexual relations. HBV cannot be treated completely, but complications and transmission prevented. Liver enzymes and viral DNA examined regularly. Secondly, avoid sexual relationships if HBsAg and HBeAg are high in your blood or high viral DNA copies.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Tayyab Malik
