Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Taking genetic Cardizem. BP in the last two week is high, 135-150/75. Constant headaches. Dr said to double meds...have an appointment next week. Still running high. Took one this am..around 135 just now 150. Just took another one. Can it stop working?
With the advancement of the years while Cardizem still works it can happen that more than one drug is needed to lower blood pressure, several other options available like ACE inhibitors, ARBs, diuretics, so if necessary other options are available. I am not sure those drugs are the cause for your headache though. While they are higher then norm, it's a moderate increase, generally headache is present when there are higher figures, so other causes of headache should be considered.
I hope to have been of help.
