Hi, I traveled to Bogota, Colombia a few weeks ago, and suffered from high altitude sickness while I was there. I initially had a headache and nearly fainted after climbing stairs, but the 5th and last day when I was there, I was asked to carry something heavy and my airways closed and couldn t get enough air. I had an inhaler, which I used, but afterwards I began shaking and got very week, which lasted a couple of hours. That night I flew back home and thought I would be feeling better, but every time I would try to do something my head would start pounding, I would have a burning in my lungs along with some crazy heart palpitations. I went to a walk in center and the doctor seemed to know nothing about altitude sickness and gave me prednisone and an antibiotic. Now 3 weeks after being home, I am still having the same symptoms and am frustrated as I have 4 kids and work part time. I wake up feeling ok but once I start moving the symptoms come back. Should I still be having side effects from the high altitude? Thanks!
