Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 50 year old woman with high blood pressure. I am 5 11 and weigh 400 pounds. I am always hungry no matter what I eat or how much, 30 min. after eating I feel like I have not eaten all day. I am very tired all the time and my body tempter averages 94-95 degrees. My blood sugar is good. Can my weigh gain, tiredness, low body temp, and hunger be related to thyroid problems? Thank you for your help
Yes,all your symptoms can be related to an underactive thyroid gland (Hypothyroidism). In this condition ,thyroid gland doesn't produce enough thyroid hormones. I would suggest to get tested for hypothyroidism. You need to test thyroid function : fT3, fT4 and TSH. If fT3,fT4 are low and TSH is high ,then you have hypothyroidism.
Hope this helps. Kind regards, Dr.Rovena Murati
