Suggest Treatment For High Blood Sugar Levels

I have DM2 last 9yrs. It was well controlled with metaformin 2grs per day&amryl(glimepride) 2mg.last year I reduced wt 4kg and my Dr. Reduced metaformin 1gr & amryl 1 mg. The sugar F below 100&pp below 120 monitoring every month.In July 2014 amryl reduced to .5mg& till Sept the sugar level was same.on 21sept amryl was stopped.over period I am doing 11-12kms walk &jogging every day & diet control .on 22 October the sugar level is F-141&PP-171 with same exercise diet .i am 63 years old.should I start amryl again or wait for some time or increase metaformin to 2gr.

Hello,welcome to HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.

At present your blood sugar levels are not at very high levels. Longterm complications are negligible if FBS Will remain less than 140 and PP2BS less than 180 mg/dl and HBA1C less than 7.

so,my advice is you can still wait with same medicines as previous for next 3 months.IF blood sugar levels increases further than you should start 0.5 mg of amaryl before lunch time.
