Suggest Treatment For High Bp & Nodules In Thyroid
Hi,
I am 67 years old and have extreme high blood pressure for the past 2 years; I take several pills each day and also during the night to keep my blood pressure under control.
I have a nodule on my thyroid that was diagnosed as benign; what I am wondering is my thyroid could be the cause.
Also I had an MRA done on my kidneys and adrenal to make sure the blood flows well and it does; my cardiac testing done extensively showed no blockage so now my last resort is maybe see and Endocrinologist?
Thank you.

Hello Welcome to HCM. Thanks for posting your query in HCM.I understand your concern. As your kidneys and adrenals are normal, your secondary causes of hypertension have been ruled out.
Thyroid that you are thinking as benign would have become overactive now secreting lots of thyroid hormones. So,you check your thyroid profile once after consulting your endocrinologist.
One more reason may be the inadequate dosage of drugs that you are taking for controlling blood pressure. So,i would suggest you to consult your treating physician regarding dosage of the drug.
Hope you are happy with the answer.
Thank you
