Suggest Treatment For High Fever And Headache

A 63-year-old international telecommunications executive visits your office with complaints of a high fever. The fever is not constant, but intermittent. When you press him for details he estimates that every three days or so he suffers these debilitating “sweats.” He usually has headaches and muscle aches during the episodes. They keep him home from work. After half a day or so he feels better until the symptoms return. He reports that he has experienced these episodes for about two months.

Hi,
Disease appears to be like malaria, also called as tertian fever.
Clinically spleen needs to be checked for enlargement. Along with laboratory evaluation of platelet count, peripheral smear (thick and thin smear) and spot test might be necessary for confirmation.
If history includes malaria endemic countries, medication may be started after taking blood sample for laboratory tests.
Hope I have answered you query. If you have any further queries, happy to help.
