My nineteen month old spiked a fever of 104.3 two nights ago. Motrin brought to 102.7 in an hour. He woke at five am burning hot and bright red i gave him motrin and in an hour was 102.7 again. His fevet today was 103.3 and arounf five.pm was 100.4. At 9 pm he was 95.6. All this is rectally. He had two runny diapers. One saturday and o e today. Otherwise no symptons. We did ho to dr. Yesterday. Pa said no obvious sign of infectiin.im sick w worry.

If he appears well and is taking fluids, there's no need to call the doctor unless the fever persists for more than 24 hours or is very high. as you are saying that temprature is gradually decreasing after givin motrin its a good sign. call the doctor if: Your child is noticeably pale or flushed, or is excreting less urine. you notice an unexplained rash, which could indicate a more serious problem like bacterial infection when coupled with a fever. Your child has difficulty breathing.cud be a case of pneumonia. as you have visited a doctor also n there is no obvious sign of infection.i don think you have to worry so mch.jst make sure the child gets plenty of fluids and rest. hope this ans helps
