Suggest Treatment For Higher Levels Of C-reactive Protein
I just received m blood work results for c-reactive protein, cardiac- the level was 4.57. I know this is high but I m not sure if this is something I need to take care of immediately or if it can wait until morning. I am under a cardiac physicans office but they are not open at this time.
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Your CRP is mildly elevated. 2. CRP is a acute phase reactant protein which is elevated during inflammation. It is not a urgency. 3. It is possibly due to an ongoing infection or inflammation. Need more history of chronic diseases or associated infections, medications for further opinion. Nothing to worry on a immediate basis. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
