Suggest Treatment For Hoarse Voice And Cold Along With Thick Phlegm

I ve lost my voice for about a week now with what I fought was a cold following an air flight. More like a chest cold with thick phlegm that doesn t want to loosen. I ve tried expectorants, cough pastilles, but nothing seems to break it. Suggestions please - I usually get some progress by now but this is really stubborn.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
This could be due to laryngitis
I recommend the following.
1) Along with expectorant cough syrup and decongestant you also need a course of antibiotics.
2) Steroid to improve vocal cord function.
3)Voice rest
You will be fine.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help.
Wish you a good health and speedy recovery.
Regards,
