Hi I'm 39 years old and have had one surgery to remove polyps. Then the pathology report came back saying complex hyperplasia with severe atypical. So a couple months later had an D&C done report came back saying disordered proliferative endometrium and fibroglandular polyp fragments and negative for hyperplasia and malignancy. I'm not having a period so they put me on birth control for six months. Period comes when it want to even on the pill. Please help!!!! What's going on with me and will I ever be able to get pregnant?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Complex hyperplasia with atypia has a approximately28% risk of developing into endometrial carcinoma.Such patients are usually put on progesterone or offered hysterectomy, if no further child bearing is required. Your second report shows no hyperplasia or malignancy, hence you need not worry. However, you should get a hysteroscopy guided endometrial biopsy so that affected areas are not missed, and you should be put on progesterone, rather than oral contraceptive pills as the latter are known to increase the risk of hyperplasia and carcinoma.
