Suggest Treatment For Hypertension And Rapid Heart Rate

Hi, I am 43 yr old female who is taking Atenolol 12.5 mg daily for hypertension. I had a major PVST attack last week, and had to received Adenisone via IV to bring heart rate back to normal. Have had minor attacks in the past, but it always stopped after 10 mins maximum. If Atenolol is a beta blocker, why isn't it helping with the PVST? I don't have an appt to see a cardiologist until the end of April which I feel is too long... any advice would be appreciated.

HI
ATENOLOL AND OTHER BETA BLOCKERS ARE NOT VERY EFFECTIVE IN PREVENTING ATTACKS OF PSVT.I WOULD SUGGEST TABLET VERAPAMIL WHICH IS CALCIUM CHANNEL BLOCKER AND IS THE DRUG OF CHOICE TO PREVENT FURTHER EPISODES.
ONCE U MEET A CARDIOLOGIST ASK FOR ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL STUDY AND RADIOABLATION WHICH WILL CURE YOUR PSVT
THANKS
