Suggest Treatment For Hyperthyroidism While On Metoprolol
AF due to hyperthyroidism 2015. Thyroid killed 6/2016. Successful cardioversion 4/13/17. Prior to cardioversion took 100 mg Metoprolol ER, 80 mg Sotalol x 1 daily. Also 75 mg x 2 daily Pradaxa. Now BP normal, but pulse low. 45-53 avg bpm. Today meds changed. Stop Sotalol. Split Metoprolol to 50 mg x 2 daily and increase Pradaxa to 150 mg x 2 daily. I m most concerned about Pradaxa dosage. Did my Cardiologist make a mistake? Or not? Thanks
You may take up to 150 mg twice a day. But in case of any hematemesis or blood in urine or a headache or easy bruising please consult your doctor immediately. Your beta blockers may cause bradycardia.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
