Hi. I was diagnosed of having hyperthyroidism 5 yrs. ago by t3 t4 TSH test, but i had been taking in the medication no more symptoms are felt. But after stopping the medication, symptoms will then again reoccur so i have to take the medication again. That cycle went on and on. I havent seen my Doctor yet. My thyroid is getting bigger and even my classmates can now see the enlargement. What can i do?
Hi dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You are suffering from hyperthyroidism. It causes symptoms. With medication your thyroid levels are under control and you don't feel symptoms. But you have stopped the medicine so you have symptoms again.
Now you should go for T3, T4 and TSH levels and start treatment accordingly.
Drugs like propylthiouracil or methimazole are useful. But it is prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you very good health.
