Suggest Treatment For Hypopigmentation With Skin Flakes On Chin Post Laser Treatment
Hello Dermatologist, I had three laser treatment (Nd: YAG) sessions for hair removal from my chin area on face. After the second session I started developing hypopigmentation with skin flakes on my chin. Initially this area was small but now its big. It also has a central darker zone. Its been 1 month since my last laser treatment, but the post inflammatory hypopigmentation stiil remains. When do you think I will recover completely from this hypopigmentation on my face. Please guide me. Thanks
I can understand your concern for hypo pigmentation with skin flakes on chin post laser treatment.
It is quite common to find such kind of hypo-pigmentation after laser in dark skin persons. It is due to mild redness and effect of laser on the superficial skin.
It takes 8-12 weeks to recover from the hypo-pigmentation condition and sometimes even can take bit longer time than 3 months. In my patients I suggest the application of Extractum cepae with heparin cream for early resolution of the of hypo-pigmentation.
Alternatively elovera gel with allantoin can also be applied on the affected area of hypo-pigmentation.
You can discuss this option with your treating laser doctor.
All the best.
