Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroidism

Hi, I have been diagnosed of hyperthyroidism n I m so scared since I now want to become pregnant. I m on methimezole medication. I hope this is a form of anti thyroid medication which s going to stop the producing hormone. Thank you need an answer desperately.

Hello,
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM! I carefully read your report and i can understand your query.
You mentioned that you are diagnosed with hyperthyroidism but you didn't report for how long are you under treatment , because your thyroid function should be normal before you plan to start a pregnancy and it takes some months to correct the hormonal level.
Once you have confirmed that the thyroid function is corrected than you may plan a pregnancy. When the pregnancy test will be positive you have to switch from methimazole to propil thiuracile.
During pregnancy is recommended to closely follow up the thyroid hormones (every month) and to adjust the dose according to their result.
