Is there any treatment for hypo thyroid. I am now 52 years. I am having hypo thyrod from 1997. Eventhough the TSH readings are showing correct figure (limit range) by body is blowting. IS there anything I can do. By this I cannot do any exercise and I have become lazy. Kindly help me.
Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
I would like to know your TSH and T4 values? Are you taking thyroid hormones regularly?
If your thyroid function tests are perfectly normal on thyroid hormone replacements then your weight gain and laziness may not be related to thyroid disease. If I were your treating physician I would have looked for other causes like diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension or low cortisol levels.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
