Hi,

Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

The symptoms of hypothyroidism are not specific for hypothyroidism. There will be a feeling of wellbeing while you will be started on thyroxine. But there are long term health hazard if you are taking it un necessarily like cardiac problems and bone problems. So we have to go by the thyroid function reports and if it says normal no treatment is needed.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
