Hello. Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor'. I have read your query and here is my advice.
Absolutely. Her surgeon should know everything about your daughter prior to her surgery.
When a child with idiopathic scoliosis has curves that are greater than 45 degrees, the treatment is surgery.
The pain in her back is probably muscular in origin. While she is waiting for her operation, you can give her age-appropriate doses of ibuprofen and a warm water bottle for her back.
Hope I have answered your query and her surgery is successful. If you have any further questions, I will be happy to help.
