Suggest Treatment For Incisional Hernia

I was diagnosed with an incisional hernia almost a year ago. 2 days ago I started having severe pain, nausea and vomiting. I went to ER and told the PA that I had an incisional hernia. He never did a physical exam but did a CT scan with dye. He told me that I had gastritis. I asked him why he wasn't addressing my hernia complaint. He said " You never told me you had a hernia. " I told him that was exactly what I said when he came in and asked " Why are you here today? " He still never physically examined me, sent me home with pain meds, nausea meds and heartburn meds. I am still in severe pain with nausea and vomiting, 2 days later. I made an appointment with a GP for next week, but am very nervous. I don't know what to do

Hi. Thanks for the query. From your history, it suggest that you may be having symptoms of intestinal obstruction as a result of the hernia. But then, it must have been apparent on the CT scan. As it turned out to be normal, your symptoms can be attributed to gastritis for which you have received the treatment. A physical examination is necessary to rule out any complications of hernia. If not the intestine, even omentum can get trapped in the hernia. What I would suggest you is to continue the current treatment and if you do not get any relief in 2 days, better visit the ER and express your concern.
