Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having what feels like indigestion and heart flips. I have Acid reflux and experience these types of symptoms sometimes. However, it seems as though my food is not digesting and I am full of gas (that is stuck in my chest area) that is not moving. My BM are normal, but I am perimenopausal. At first it was just during the day and I was able to sleep well at night. However, it is keeping me up all night now. Help? I'm going to the ER in the morning.
These symptoms are consistent with gastritis. we initially give a trial of acid suppressant drugs with some lifestyle modifications so I would advise you should some antacids like Lansoprazole once for 14 days.
Also avoid spicy foods, hope this would settle the problems, if not you should consult your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Muhammad Zahir Shah, Internal Medicine Specialist
