hi, i m prem 21 years old and i m underweight having only 42 kg and hieght 162 cm. basically i get hungry but when i starts eating i cannot eat more than 2 3 bites. and my digestive system is not good. if i eat much it is not digested. so suggest me what to do doctor
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Only 42 kg at the age of 21 with height of 162 cm is underweight for sure and the cause looks to be obviously as mentioned by you that is unable to eat more than few bites, indigestion and related problems. My suggestion for you would be as follows: Consult a General Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations: Blood tests for CBC, proteins, liver, thyroid and kidney function and any other tests like that for TB and so on as per the clinical judgement of your Doctor/Surgeon. CT scan of the abdomen., Upper GI Endoscopy and colonoscopy. If required barium studies. All these will give the proper diagnosis so that a proper disease specific management can be done. If there is any intestinal obstruction you may need a surgery.
