Suggest Treatment For Infection After C Section

I'm not sure whether I need to complain about my doctor. I had a c-section 7 weeks ago which resulted in a nasty infection. She just started prescribing antibiotics and said she doesn't know if I'm on the right meds nor does she know how to treat it. So she referred me to a surgeon who deals with the lap band and gastric by pass. He informed me no that my infection isn't common to c-sections and was a little horrified my doctor didn't know the correct meds to prescribe but he still helped me and worked for 3 weeks to clear the infection. I know that maternal morality is 45 days post op and I'm worried that next time my doctor could hurt another women next time but the outcome much worse. Is this something worth complaining about? If so how?
