Suggest Treatment For Infection In The Belly Button

Hi,My son slipped on ice but caught himself before falling. later that evening he noticed his belly was sore. Next morning his belly button was oozing bloody puss. His belly button was also hard in one area. He now has a red large circle all of the way around his belly button.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for soreness in the bottom of the belly of your son.

There can be a possibility of secondary infection in your son's case.

You should meet your treating doctor to get proper diagnosis. Do not try to even touch or pinch the area as can cause more aggravation of the problem and spread of the infection. This area is quite common to get infected very easily because of sweating and high bacterial proliferation.

For time being period you can apply antibiotic cream such as gentamycin or fucidin or mupirocin and take pain killer tablets such diclofenac or paracetamol.
