Suggest Treatment For Infection On Upper Wall Behind The Tounge
hey doc, i just had some indian mouth freshner and i seem to have got an infection on the upper wall behind the tounge.it seems to have become a bit white in colour and it burns a little even if i try to drink some water. could u suggest some medicine which could help me get some relief. i have a couple of antibiotics with me like a CLAVAM 625 and a ciplox-tz (ciprofloxacin & tinidazole tablet). so could i take any of them to get relief ? thanx

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms it seems that you have got chemical burns with the chemicals present in the mouth freshener and not infection.. The white appearance is due to injury to the mucosa. Nothing to worry, you should gargle with a numbing solution containing Lignocaine for relief from burning and pain. Gargle with warm saline water. You can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen. Avoid spicy and hard foods. It will start improving within a week but in case if the condition does not resolve consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated..
