Over the several months i noticed around my period i get what seem to be hair bumps. They do not appear in the valva area just where the hair grow. Warm copmress don t work they last over several weeks. They don t come in clusters. They also appear oo the inner thigh. Can this b herpes? There some what painful the ones on my pubic hair when touched. Do erpes appear in the valva also? In past i had a infected hair bumb was treated with antibiotics an warm compress it busrt an went away. Do herpes look like bumps are just clusters of fliud filled bumps? I think i need a herpes test what do u think?
After going through your description this seems more like a problem with ingrown hair rather than genital herpes. Points in favor of this diagnosis are that they are painful, raised bumps and can last for weeks. Genital herpes on the other hand presents as clusters/ grouped, discrete, erosion's and they rarely last for more than 5-7 days, specially if its recurrent herpes. Genital herpes can present on the hair bearing region as well as vaginal mucosa whereas ingrown hair mostly present in the hair bearing region i.e groin and thighs. Genital herpes is an STD and is acquired by close/ intimate contact with an infected sexual partner. I suggest that you visit a specialist in your region for a confirmatory diagnosis and for herpes testing,as deemed necessary by your doctor..
