Hello and welcome to HCM
From your description, and history it seems you may have developed an allergy. They may be due to insect/mosquito/bug bites.
Few things to consider are, whether they start as reddish spots or swelling or wheals. Is there any history of fever.
Do you have history of allergy to anything in the past.
We need to rule out all possible cause or trigger factor such as
insect bites, animal or outdoor plant exposure, outdoor activity, sun allergies, any application or chemicals allergic to,new medication, new food items, seafood etc. Are there similar complaints among anyone in the family that could indicate infestation?
they may also be due to viral infections or other causes. Are they leaving dark marks or resolving on their own?
Firstly you may apply a calamine/menthol based lotion for itching and to soothe the rashes. Take an antihistamine like
benadryl for a few days till it resolves. You may need to apply a steroid cream like
mometasone on rashes that are spreading or not going away. Severe recurrent hives may need a steroid shot for relief followed by the medication.
be sure to avoid any item you are allergic to or which could have triggered the rash.
Consult a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis of allergy or eczema as well. Other rashes of viral, fungal causes etc need to be ruled out by them.
Dry skin, thyroid disorders,
diabetes etc can also cause itching.
The treatment advised can be started and continued after consulting the doctor. If necessary, blood tests or skin
allergy tests may be advised later if the rashes persist.
Hope this helps. You may need to take the medication till it completely stops.
