Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Itching Sensation And Dry Skin Around The Scrotum And Sweating And Pain At Other Times
Hi!! Doc, I have been experiencing some problems with my scrotum for a will where by it itches, dry up ,sometimes it becomes sweat and also painful. My question is if I use covigen calamine lotion B.P will it help me
Take care of your hygiene. Keep your private area clean and dry. Change your clothes and undies every day. Wear cotton undies and soft cotton clothes. Undue sweating, moist wet genital area will cause jock itch to develop and cause symptoms that you have been experiencing. You can apply ointment clotrimazole, on the affected area for relief. Take antihistamine at bedtime to reduce & control symptoms of itching.
Do not touch or scratch as it will cause spread of infection. Applying hydrocortisone ointment or calamine lotion will reduce symptoms. Cold compress is also very helpful. If the infection is resistant, take antifungal medicine orally. Avoid any sexual activity for a couple of days.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
