Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Recurrent Pain In The Upper Abdomen, Just Below Diaphragm Apart From Cold Sweats
Pain upper abdomen just below diafragm quick onset 9 hours ago after waking from night sleep. Occasionally subsides but comes back after short while. Earlier had some cold sweating. No vomiting or diarrhea.. think I might have a touch of food poisoning..
Pain in upper abdomen just below diaphragm can be due to many reasons, few important notes are first of all, to rule out cardiac issues by doing EKG or ECG and any other cardiac work up. It can be due to acid peptic disease like esophagitis, barrettes esophagus, sliding hiatus hernia, gastritis or so.
Liver, gallbladder and pancreas related problems. Ultrasound helps primarily. Upper GI Endoscopy, X-ray chest in additional, relevant tests of blood may be needed. Lung and pleura problems too can cause similar pain. Take a PPI like Pantoprazole, antacid and see if this is helping, otherwise consult your Doctor or at ER.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
