I have iron deficiency. Before i was diagnosed with iron deficiency i had intestine problem... low appetite and abdominal pain. I pee a lot too. I am 18 years old now. I sometimes have a severe fatigue which makes me senseless for seconds/minutes. Shaky and tired before and after bowel movements. Sometimes before i make bowel movements i have severe fatique and stomach ache like diarhea. I have back ache from 15.. sometimes i cant sleep because of the pain in my back. Recently a bumb came up in my right tibia bone. It didnt hurt much... but when i pressed it it hurts though its not extreme. The pain went away after i took amway s calcium and iron. But soon after I stopped having it the pain returned. I am so worried now. I have gastric too... And warm foot which makes me stay up the whole night. And cramp which moves down from my thigh to my feet and sometimes it moves upward. I have severe stomach ach when my feets are cold or when my body is a bit cold. Chest pain too. I don t know wich doctor to visit now
Thanks a lot for your question. I have read it carefully and I will try my best to assist you. Iron deficiency is very common in young women of fertile age but the good news it that it can be easily treated. You should do the following: 1. Take a good quality iron supplement every day with a glass of citrus juice (120-160 mg of iron per day). 2. Consume at LEAST 18 mg of iron from foods every day. Good iron sources include: - 100 grams of beef = 2,6 mg - 100 grams of chicken = 1,3 mg - 100 grams of chicken liver = 12,9 mg - 1 egg = 1,2 mg - 100 grams of clams = 28 mg - 1 cup of spinach = 1,3 mg - 1 cup of cooked lentils = 6.6 mg - 30 grams of nuts = 0,8 mg
