Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a 55 years old postmenopausic woman. And for several days at the eveing time when I am lying down my heart skeept a beat every 15-20 beats. I am not experiencing anyother signs or sympthoms with this unusual issue. I has been taking for several months one garlic capsule and Isoflavones tab in am. What do you think that I should do?
I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to a cardiac arrhythmia or low blood pressure values.
Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician and performing some tests:
- a resting ECG and a cardiac ultrasound - an ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG monitoring to investigate for possible cardiac arrhythmia - complete blood count for anemia - thyroid hormone levels for possible thyroid gland dysfunction - blood electrolytes for possible imbalance.
You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.
Meanwhile, I would recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure through the day and refer them to your doctor.
Hope to have been helpful to you!
Wishing good health,
Dr. Iliri
