Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Irregularities in menstrual period can be due to hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactemia or polycystic ovarian disease. Spotting can also be due to local lesions in cervix and vagina. The stoppage of oral contraceptive leads to spotting and can also lead to delay in periods. I would suggest you to wait for the periods for 1-2 weeks after stopping the drug, and then get properly examined, investigated and treatment accordingly by an OBGYN specialist. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Neeraj Kumar
