General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. PCOD is a condition due to hormonal imbalance, resulting in supression of ovulation. - In the treatment plan, doctor's try to stimulate ovulation by giving cyclical hormonal contraceptives in the beginning. - Specific treatment consists of - - Weight reduction( dieting, exercises, tablets like metformin),/ovulation stimulation by specific drugs ( Clomiphene) - a full course of minimum 6 months usually gives results. If not - surgery is the ultimate answer for the problem. I would advise treatment under expert gynecologist's guidance. Thanks.
