Suggest Treatment For Itch And Chemical Burn On Upper Lip

Hi, i m 16 and i m on accutane twice a day. I had this itch and a chemical burn i think on my upper lip. It was very minute but i think i scratched too much and now it s all over the left part of my face. It s really red and raw and hurts. Should i use soframycin or neosporin?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

As per your case history my advice is:
• As you are on Accutane you are having dryness of lips (it is the side effect of Accutane)
• Don't scratch the lips as it will worsen the condition.
• Apply an antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily. Also apply an emollient like Vaseline for avoiding Accutane-induced dryness.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
