Suggest Treatment For Itching And Odour After Colposcopy

26 yo female underwent a colposcopy 11/21/2015 - two biopsies were performed. 11/23/15 symptoms [severe genital itching] similar to a yeast infection presented. Two attempts to be seen by physician, OBGYN and PCP, both unsuccessful. 11/26/15 symptoms persist [very mild itching, worsening smell] making female very uncomfortable. Is there an OTC temporary solution until appointment can be scheduled with provider next week?

Hi.

Unfortunately slight odour and itching or a raw feeling is common after a colposcopy, but as mentioned this was present even before that. For now, may be simple approaches like warm water sitz bathes with epsom salt in it, warm compresses over the region, and the use of a lotion like calamind lotion topically (not internally) can be followed.

Best wishes.
