I had a myringoplasty just over a week ago and all of a sudden the inside of my ear has started to itch unbearably is there anyway i can combat this as I still have the packing inside my ear and it wont be coming out for another 5 days, 24, 5ft 4.5in
Is there any ear packing right now?? Is there any discharge from the ear?
Possible causes are like local infection or local fungal growth or allergy to the drugs or ear drops or otitis externa. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use Tablet monterleukast and levocetirizine once a day for five days. Avoid water entry into the ears. Use water vapour inhalation thrice a day for five days. If no improvement please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
