Suggest Treatment For Itching Sensation All Over The Body

I am a 60 year old female & have developed odd itching sensations. Ex inside my ear, than in my nose, on my arm, behind my knee, on my scalp. I am healthy and on no medications. The itching never wakes me up, and some time I don t itch. It s something that just started a few months ago.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

As per your case history of generalized itching, my treatment advice is:

1. Do not scratch the skin as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on the affected region twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, and oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
