Suggest Treatment For Itching Sensation Around The Anal Area

Hi. Over the passed few days I have started to have an itchy rectum, and scrotum, which is now spread to my inner thighs and on the backs of my legs between the crease of my knee. The rash goes when it is itched and it’s spreading quite rapidly. It rash isn’t always itchy only when I’m in bed or get hot, or I start to sweat in those areas.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It seems that you suffer from pruritus ani and scrotal dermatitis. This ultimately spread to elsewhere. Most probably the cause is psychological upsets, may be stress and tension. I would advise to be relaxed and free of tension. Take anxiolytic like Fluoxetine and antihistaminics like Levocetirizine. If needed, steroid may be taken in tapering dose. Apply mild steroid cream. Avoid soap contact.
